biogHolly was born in Hong Kong in 1980 and was brought up in Hong Kong, Devon North Wales and has been living in London since 2000. She completed an Art Foundation course at Chelsea College of Art and followed that up with a City and Guilds Woodworking Course in 2004. Hollys earlier artistic dispositions were properly cultivated and encouraged by her father, photographer Robert Freeeman, the man responsible for the art and design of the first five album covers of the Beatles.
Holly uses Mixed Media and is particularly interested in re-working and re-cycling materials and objects to create incredible works of art. Her work is inspired by playful interpretations of nautical life and music. She is also mainly driven by her passion for salvaging discarded objects and creating new forms of art. Hollys work is largely influenced by Alfred Wallace for the love of the sea, Cezane for the colours and landscapes and Picasso for playfulness and just about everything else!
Hollys previous exhibitions include Penryn Castle in North Wales (2000), Spitafilelds Market (2004), The Gallery at Chelsea (2004) and Candid Arts Trust (Islington 2005).
Holly showed her art at the-situaiton modern #4. |
